United states history since 1945

This is a 2 part course work, both parts will be a forum post with an question at the end. Each forum need to be at least 150 words long. For the first one pick a topic from the attached chapter 12,13,14 or 15 power points and write the forum post. Next, do the same for chapter 16,17,18 and 19. Please make sure you cite your source, and it is very important to pick just one topic for each forum. Also remember to post a question at the end of each forum that other student need to be able to answer with 150-250 words, so no yes or no questions. Follow example below:
America’s number one fear has always been communism. Every time threats of communism occur, America loses its ability to act reasonably. “A War to End a War” (Moss 183). The government and President Nixon’s actions cost thousands of lives. “At the same time, to please American public opinion that had turned against the war, Nixon announced a phased withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Vietnam” (Moss 184). We were never fully committed to stopping North Vietnam and we paid the ultimate price. Troops were dying for what seemed to be, a senseless cause. Let’s face it, the Vietnam War was an ugliest moment in history for America. President Nixon had plenty of opportunities to make peaceful agreements and pull America out of South Vietnam. Instead, Nixon deliberately escalated the war by bombing Cambodia and sending more soldiers into North Vietnam. He even “turned the Air force loose on the North” during Christmas (Moss 187). All these senseless actions were for almost nothing in the long run as America no longer believed in the war, and accepted defeat by pulling out of Vietnam. What were the biggest reasons America was so unsuccessful in winning the Vietnam War?
