An analysis of a primarily functional object (arguing whether ornament would add to it or distract from the function) and one highly ornamented (again, discussing what the role of ornament is in the object and whether it is necessary/helpful). Think about questions such as: Why it the object functional/ornamental? What makes it functional? Why does the object work? In what ways is it a product of its context? Could it be expressed in any other way? Would it benefit from ornament? How would the object be different if its form was different?
