Conventionally, biomass undergoes the following steps: pretreatment, saccharification, and then fermentation. I would like to focus my topic on combining the ionic pretreatment and saccharification step.In this paper I need to focus on:
Why should we invest in one-pot ionic liquid pretreatment and saccharification versus other pretreatment methods (i.e organosolv or other pretreatment methods)? What is
attractive about this method from an economic, environmental, and practical standpoint?What are the current research/development efforts going into this method (i.e. what are the current challenges in this area that have limited its effectiveness)? If the company chooses to invest, where will the money actually go to improve the process?
Providing sufficient arguments, technical depth, concise and clear language are important.
