Please follow these suggestions for answering the questions on the worksheet:

Question #1 asks for a definition. Do not give a short, one sentence definition. Go into an explanation about what communication is about and about the communication process (sender-receiver model).

Question #2 asks for the principles. While there is not a specific section in the assigned readings that lists principles, use your critical thinking skills and identify some principles or guidelines that helps one to have effective communication skills. Make a list of at least 5 principles. 

Question #3 asks for an explanation of the principles from question #2! Why are these important to communication? Give a substantive answer. Apply them to the workplace and personal relationships.

Question #4 asks for some specific similarities and differences of these 3 types of communication. You may want to do some outside research as well as use your critical thinking skills about how are these applied in the workplace.

Question #5  asks about an example of a situation. Don’t just describe the situation, explain how the concepts from the assigned readings can be applied in the situation.
