You have been tasked to evaluate the policies for Evans Sales relating to:
• Acceptable Use
• Password Protection
• Password Construction
• Database Credentials
• Server Security
You will be required to view the current policies, research business best practices, and report to the CSO of Evans Sales your recommendations. The CSO has requested any changes be researched and documented as part of the recommendations. Any assumption will require professional validation from either technical articles and/or white papers, etc. supporting the changes (i.e. Work Cited with in-text citations).
The CSO for Evans Sales has a Masters in Security Management and holds an CISSP certification, so he expects the information to be original and not copied from any resource. You must explain the information in your own words and not rely on the internet for references to where you obtained the possible changes you are suggesting. NOTE: Your current textbooks can be used as references.
Your report will consist of the following:
• Cover page (1 Page)
• Executive Summary (1 Page)
• Table of Contents (1-2 pages)
• Body of the report (10-15 pages)
o Sections covering each department
o Database and DMZ sections
o Suggestion for secure remote connections
o Suggested modifications/additions to the current network
o Modifications/additions of any policy you deem necessary and why
o New policies you deem necessary and why (add any new policy as an addendum to the report, does not count as part of the body)
o Any additional hardware/software modifications
• References (1-2 pages)
Formatting of report
• You are not allowed to use the Course Template for this report
• You may find a suitable Business template for Word. Font size must be maintained throughout and the body font cannot be larger than 12 point. Headings, subtitles, etc. may be larger.
• In-text citations are REQUIRED for any thoughts/subject matter not your own AND this is a research project, so do not give an opinion.
• DO NOT use quotes of any kind in the report. If you wish to emphasize, use italics.
• Graphics may be used if needed, BUT must not be more than 20% of a page and the text MUST wrap around the graphic.
• Upload your completed project to the correct dropbox BEFORE the due date.
