1.We live in a litigious society. Healthcare providers are generally covered by their employers’ professional liability policies. Some, however, feel that they need additional policies to protect them above and beyond the standard coverage. The opposing argument is that if a provider has a million-dollar personal malpractice policy, they become a target for patients and lawyers. What are your thoughts about this?

2. If a provider has a million-dollar personal malpractice policy, they might not become a target for patients and lawyers. I believe as long as a healthcare provider is doing his/her job right. They won’t get sued. According to Burkin, the most important factor in many of their cases beside the negligence itself.
