Instructions: The presentation will be between 10-15 minutes to present. You will select a 2-5 minute clip from a movie or show that shows a negotiation / bargaining between parties. While you may select any movie or show, please keep in mind that you should be in alignment with AUK policies and with Kuwait’s national laws and norms regarding culture and religion. Students should not have the same movie / show clip. You will explain the situation and show that clip to the class. You will then explain what negotiation approach is being used by each party, substantiating your belief by connecting the movie evidence to the negotiation approach / theory.
You will discuss concepts that are being used within the negotiation (at least three). You will then describe what you would have suggested as a resolution if you were the mediator in this negotiation and why you resolution idea would work between both parties. You will be using PowerPoint. The PowerPoint (and therefore, the oral presentation) should have the following structure: Slide 1: Student name, the name of the movie, the two parties involved and what each party’s motivation / demands are (briefly) Slide 2: Movie / show clip. Should be 2- 5 minutes long Slide 3: What negotiation approach / theory is being used and demonstrate why Slide 4: Three negotiation / bargaining concepts used in the clip’s negotiation / by the negotiators Slide 5: Your recommended resolution (what approach you are taking and your actual solution) Slide 6: Bibliography (cite the movie and cite the scholars of the negotiation theories / concepts discussed.
