Degenerate electron orbitals are orbitals of the SAME energy level such as 2p orbitals. Using this example given, in an orbital diagram seen below.

Find the 2p orbital, and you will notice that there are three boxes, this will be the same for each p orbital, d orbitals will have five boxes, and f orbitals have seven. because each of these orbitals have these spaces that are of equal energy , similar to seats on a bus, they are known as degenerate levels.
