What is a setting of a story? How is that different from plot?

The setting is like the stage – the time and place of the action. The plot is the storyline.

Example The setting of the story of Oliver Twist is Victorian London (time:19th century; place: London).

The plot is how Oliver became an apprentice thief and finally discovered a place and family to belong to.
