Using your favorite poem from the module, analyze the work in terms of its historical, biographical, and technical elements. A suggestion for a technical element might be an analysis of the symbols used in the poem 1

A. Historical — When did the author live? How does that historical period affect the details given to us by the author? How do we know? What historical events may have influenced the details of the poem? What historical details are contained within the poem?
B. Biographical — Who was the author? What details of the author’s biography are important to the poem? Remember that just because something may have happened to an author in his/her “real” life, it does not mean that the author is writing autobiography.
C. Technical — What are the literary devices used by the author? A suggestion for a technical element might be an analysis of the symbols used in the poem.

Each student will write a research paper that answers a specific research question about one of the texts we read, interprets the scholarship relating to that question, and expresses the author’s own critical analysis toward the topic. The essay should appropriately use MLA citation, including both parenthetical in-text citations and a Works Cited page, and should include at least 5 sources other than the textbook, at least 3 of which must be something other than a website source (online journals don’t count as a website source here). This essay should be at least six typed pages, but may be more (Times New Roman 12 pt).

My Research Question:
What were the implications that socialist writers such as Twain and Sinclair have on the political policies of early American government? how much of an impact did the extreme writers have on changing the thoughts and actions of the American people?

I have included for you the grading rubric for this essay. This is a HUGE part of this class grade, I need a writer who is spot on in every way!!!
