Get a copy of Bettany Hughes’ The Hemlock Cup: Socrates, Athens, and the Search for the Good Life and read it. Write a careful critique of the book, summarizing each chapter and what it says about the world in which Socrates lived. (Do not give me a general summary of the book. I can find that in a good number of book reviews and so I won’t get extra credit for that kind of general work.) Make sure that you use your own words and focus on the world in which Socrates lived, not other aspects of the book.
