You will interview an author and then write a brief (not more than 500-word) biographical article in which you discuss what the author’s style and approach to writing are, and what the author’s concerns are in his or her work. From this article we should get a sense of what the person looks and sounds like, how he/she comes off in terms of personality and mood, and how what he/she is doing now is meaningful or important. It should include some relevant quotes.
THE AUTHOR IN THIS ARTICLE IS YOURSELF.
But the person writing the article and doing the interview is NOT you.
In others odds, YOU ARE WRITING AN ARTICLE ABOUT YOURSELF, FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOMEONE ELSE.
Rules:
1) The article must begin with some arresting visual or other perceptual image, OR an interesting direct quotation.
2) The article must give a sense of the environment in which the interview took place;
3) The imaginary interviewer does not know the subject (you) personally. Do not include any information about yourself that this imaginary interviewer could not know, guess, or presume from either your writing or what they hear and see while interviewing you.
