TOPIC:ALBINISM

Purpose: To introduce the student to the principles of Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) through use of a case-based presentation. The student will demonstrate the ability to formulate a clinical case study, perform an efficient literature search and apply the results through presentation that will enhance the student’s knowledge for future clinical practice. The student will also gain experience in teaching and presentation skills by educating their peers. This group presentation also incorporates the “Team Teach” collaboration where nursing faculty are invited to come and observe the presentations and give feedback from a clinical perspective. 

Objectives:

1. Students will utilize critical thinking through clinical case studies.
2. Students will be able to find current evidence by performing an effective medical literature search.
3. Students will apply the information found to future clinical practice.
4. Students will gain experience educating peers about their topic.

Format: Students will design a minimum 6–page paper, double spaced along.  This is case study presentation that should include the following:

1. Case Study/SBAR (situation, background, assessment, recommendations) format. 
2. Pathophysiology of the presented topic.
3. Include four different medical-based evidence and/or research.
4. Cite any works using APA style format.

For weeks 10-12, you’ll be working on a case study based on all of the material you’ve been learning this term.View the case study presentation (you can download the PowerPoint file attached above).

Create a Business Plan* with your recommendations on the University using Cloud Services. Your report should include the following areas:

• Summary of the case
• A list of business requirements that potentially can benefit from available cloud services. This is based on the information from the case study. There should be a brief explanation for each item on the list.
• A list of administrative processes that have the potential to be moved to a cloud service provider. The administrative side includes many processes similar to most organizations. Here’s a couple of questions to get you started:
  • What are the different departments identified?
  • Do any need specialized software?
  • Do they each need a separate data store?
• Your recommendations

Fully explain your answer and provide specific examples for each. Your Business Plan will be a Word or PDF file. Submit your report using the week 10 assignment link.
