Assignment 1: LensCrafters Case Study

This assignment requires student complete an analysis of the LensCrafters case from Chapter 6 of the text.

Write a six to seven (6-7) page paper in which you:

1. Evaluate LensCrafters’ operations strategy and explain how the organization seeks to gain a competitive advantage in terms of sustainability.
2. Analyze how operation management activities affect the customer experience. Select two (2) operation management challenges and provide the solutions for confronting them.
3. Examine LensCrafters’ value chain and evaluate its effectiveness to operations in terms of quality, value creation, and customer satisfaction. 
4. Determine the different types of performance measurements that can be used to measure LensCrafters’ service-delivery system design. Select at least two (2) types that can be applied and provide justifications for the selection. 
5. Examine the different types of technologies applied to LensCrafters’ service operations and evaluate how the technologies strengthen the value chain.
6. Use at least three (4) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

• Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

In this assignment, pick a health behavior or mental-health related issue of your choice and explore the literature related to theories that have been used to guide interventions directed to the issue. In this research paper, you must examine at least 8 scholarly sources (peer-reviewed journals and/or books) to address the following:

1. A brief overview of the chosen behavior/issue.
   1. Discuss also why you chose this particular behavior
   2. How did theory help you conceptualize this behavior?
2. An overview of the literature you searched related to theory-grounded interventions related to the behavior.
   1. What did the authors conclude? Where did they agree (find similar findings) or disagree (find different results)?
3. Most of your paper should be devoted to social work practice recommendations, including:
   1. Is this theory/intervention a good fit for social work interventions?
   2. What are the limitations of this theory for social work interventions? What are the strengths of this approach for social work interventions?

                                          i.    Think about the social work ethical implications (refer specifically to the NASW Code of Ethics) related to this theory and your literature review on the related interventions- what did you learn that could apply to social work ethics and interventions?

                                         ii.    How is this theory relevant as it relates to individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities and societies?

1.    Think about issues of diversity and privilege when you answer this, particularly related to: differences in ability, age, class, color, culture, ethnicity, family structure, gender (including gender identity and gender expression) marital status, national origin, race, religion or spirituality, sex, and sexual orientation
