Question 1 – Discuss and use specific examples of how the American court system ensures that the law is enforced in a fair and equal manner.
Question 2 – Similar to the issue of lifetime appointments, political appointments to the bench are not without controversy. Do you believe this is an appropriate means for seating judges? Does this process guarantee quality judges, or does it open the door for less-than-qualified judges? If the latter, what problems can this create? What changes (if any) should be made in this system?
Question 3 – After reading the Pre-trial stage section: Are impoverished black males being held before trial because they pose a threat, or because of a stereotype held by those making the release decision?
