Discuss the different fields that human factors experts work in and how they help improve human-machine interactions in those areas.

Human factors experts work to build an optimal relationship between humans and machines with maximum efficiency. Some different fields that include human factors experts are Google, Computer Companies, Aircraft manufactures and research facilities. The goal of these workers is to insure the product is user friendly but there are step taken to ensure the product is also as effective as possible. During the design process, the human factors experts are involved in the beginning, middle and end to monitor the process and make minor adjustments. Human factors experts working for aircraft manufactures look to find the happy medium between price, safety, and performance. Human factors experts working for computer companies such as IBM work on improving their designs to allow their programs to be more user friendly. Overall, all human factors jobs are similar, as their goal is to find the most efficient way for a human to use a machine.

In your opinion, rank the Five Factors in order of importance for a

coach from most important to least important. Explain your rankings.

Assignment 3: Industry Interviews Synthesis Paper

Two (2) Professional Industry Interviews will be scheduled and

conducted by the student with industry professionals in their intended

career path and/or a related field.
The student should submit the names, positions, and organizations of

the proposed individuals to be interviewed for approval by the course

instructor. Once the student has selected their candidates for

interview, he/she should schedule a convenient time for approximately a

20-25 minute interview and should prepare the following questions.

1.    Could you please explain your position and the job

responsibilities associated with this position?
2.    What do you perceive is required for effective leadership in

your position and within your organization?
3.    How did you begin your career in the industry?
4.    Are there any recommendations or advice that you can offer to

someone just beginning their career in this segment of the industry?
5.    What trends do you see occurring within the industry at this

present time?
6.    Any other questions or follow-up questions that the student

deems appropriate.

Directions: The student will write a minimum three-page, compare and

contrast analysis paper of the information provided during the two

interviews.  The paper should be organized coherently and provide the

reader with an analysis that should include but not necessarily be

limited to the following:
a)    Similarities observed between the two interviews and

recommendations of the professionals.
b)    Differences between the two individuals and why these

differences may exist.
c)    Other significant facts or aspects of the interviews.
d)    Strategies you intend to apply within your career track as a

result of the knowledge, information and advice acquired in these

interviews.

Refer to the rubric on the last page to be sure all requirements are

met.

Industry Interviews Synthesis Paper Rubric

The synthesis paper is well organized and well written. Similarities

between the two interviews and their recommendations are discussed in

detail, differences between the two individuals and a clear explanation

of why the differences exist is described, other significant facts or

aspects of the interview are clearly delineated, and strategies the

student intends to apply within their career track are addressed and

reflected upon. There are no errors in grammar or spelling.
