1. Choose a historical source (primary source) to analyze. This source must be a written source. If you cannot find one, please ask and I will give you one to use. You may not use a source that we have already discussed in class or that is from one of our textbooks (Hollitz or Gorn); please utilize the library or a trusted internet source (.edu) to find your historical source.
2. You need to turn in a written report over your source and also create a Power Point to highlight the major points of your paper (these are parts a, b, and c from number 5 below).
3. Your written report needs to be typed and 2-3 pages (700-1,000 words) in length. It will be due by 11:59 pm on 5/14/2014 to turnitin.com.
4. Your Power Point should contain at least 3 slides that address all the information in number 5 below. It will be due by 11:59 pm on 5/14/2014 to my inbox;
5. In your written report you must address the following information; you should highlight this basic information in your Power Point as well:
a. What is your source about (include the main purpose, the key question addressed, the main information, and the main conclusions).
b. What is the society in which it was produced (include a brief background of the time/society, and the authors assumptions, consequences of the source-to you the reader and the main point of views)
c. How is this source connected to other information you know about the time period or person or event, etc.
6. Note: This is worth 30% of your final grade(averaged with the other Response Writings). The written report AND Power Point will both be graded. Make sure you turn in the written assignment and Power Point in on time. Extra work (example: a very well designed Power Point with primary source pictures, etc.) may result in extra points added to your historical source analysis grade.
