 Youth within the juvenile justice system are a wide range of ages from young children to older teenagers. The physical, psychological, educational and social needs of this wide age range of youth presents unique challenges to every part of the system from law enforcement officers to corrections officers. Dealing with a 10 year old is never the same as dealing with 17 year old. Most youth charged in juvenile court remain in the juvenile justice system. For those requiring serious and/or long-term treatment there are secure and non-secure residential programs.

Please answer the following questions with examples using the above information.  All writing is to be done in APA format with Abstract and Introduction

  1. Using the social learning theory, explain why it is an appropriate basis upon which to build and operate a juvenile residential treatment program

  2. Using the strain theory, explain why it is an appropriate basis upon which to build and operate a juvenile residential treatment program

  3. Explain in detail why each of the two (2) theories would be more applicable to either younger or older youth or both

  4. Provide a thorough definition,  explanation, and example of the each theory
