Your first essay will be an argument that makes a claim regarding one of the topics we have been discussing so far—your map, your photograph(s), or some issue regarding the family (perhaps related to one of the essays we read and discussed or other essays in Chapter 3) and how we think of families—how we construct families in our culture. You should use at least two secondary sources for your paper (and perhaps many more). The paper should be 750-1000 words (and may be longer). (Note: You may use essays in the textbook as sources.)
Map: Come up with a claim that your map makes about a place (neighborhood, country, city, etc), time (historical context), or experience. List your reasons for making the claim. In your paper, you should include evidence that supports your claim, including information from secondary sources
