Description

Introductory paragraph to topic (refer to the Final Paper guidelines for your topic selection). Write an introductory paragraph with at least 150 words that clearly explains the topic, the importance of further research, and ethical implications.

Thesis statement. Write a direct and concise thesis statement, which will become the solution to the problem that you will argue or prove in the Week 5 Final Paper. (A thesis statement should be a concise, declarative statement. The thesis statement must appear at the end of the introductory paragraph.)

Annotated bibliography. Develop an annotated bibliography to indicate the quality of the sources you have read. Summarize in your own words how the source contributes to the solution of the global societal issue for each annotation. Address fully the purpose, content, evidence, and relation to other sources you found on this topic (your annotation should be one to two paragraphs long—150 words or more. Include no less than five scholarly sources in the annotated bibliography that will be used to support the major points of the Final Paper. Demonstrate critical thinking skills by accurately interpreting evidence used to support various positions of the topic.

Prior to beginning this assignment, be sure to review the required materials for this week, the articles “Revisiting humanism as guiding principle for education: an excursion into Waldorf Pedagogy (Links to an external site.)”, “The concept of learning in Waldorf Education (Links to an external site.)”, and “What is experiential learning? (Links to an external site.)”, as well as the required articles and text that addressed Constructivism, Social Constructisvism, and Behaviorism in the past week. Also review any relevant Instructor Guidance. This guidance can be very helpful as it may include strategies that support your preferred learning.For this written assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding of theoretical perspectives by creating a compare and contrast essay on a topic you select from the list below. This assignment will allow you to examine two or more different approaches to a given problem or different examples of a specific phenomenon. In this essay, you will analyze and explain a minimum of two similarities and two differences in the topics. You will also analyze and explain the essential connection between the subjects by justifying and making their comparison relevant and important. For this essay, you should write for an audience of novice students of learning psychology. To create a lucid and well-developed essay in your own words, you should refrain from using quotations from your sources.

Once you have made your choice, you will apply basic research to your project by taking some time to research and develop your expertise in the subject. This will aid you in the successful completion of this assignment. The research can be accomplished through reading online material or researching articles and e-books available from the Ashford University Library. 1. Must be three to four double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
2. Must include a title page with the following:
   • Title of paper
   • Student’s name
   • Course name and number
   • Instructor’s name
   • Date submitted
3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement. Visit the Ashford Writing Center to clarify how to create a strong thesis statement and what it helps you to accomplish. You may also use the Thesis Generator tool (Links to an external site.).

5. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis. 6. Must use at least three scholarly sources, two of which must come from the Ashford University Library.
7. Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
8. Must include a separate reference page that is formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

What is most important to you as a person and what is most unique about you?

• Create a core values list. Answer the question prompt and give yourself 10 minutes to type as many values as you can in list form.  You should have a minimum of 20-25 values – more is better.  If the idea flow slows, try asking yourself what kinds of things do other people do that annoy you and this will reveal values (ie. When people are late or lazy). 

• Now you will organize your core value list. Sort the words into 5-7 groups that feature similar ideas.  This allows you to find patterns.  For example if you wrote Equality and Fairness, you would decide those are similar and should be grouped together.  Do not discard any ideas even if they are repeated.

• Now you will select your core values. Look at each of the 5-7 groups you created and choose a key word or concept that summarizes each group.  The key word or concept you chose from each group is your CORE VALUE. 

• Define your core values. You can easily come up with the definition of your core values using ideas found in each grouping of words.  The definitions should use terminology found in the words you listed in those groups.  Then explain why you think this is so important to you for each of the core values.  (Example – Equality is ………  This is important to me because I……….)

• Once you have completed this exercise, what surprised you and didn’t surprise you about your core values?
