Week 5 | Research Blog #4 (Project 2)

I don’t know how to handle this English question and need guidance.

In the final blog, you are strongly encouraged to branch out into other genres as you look for more information to help you understand your research question and possible solutions/answers. For example, you might read a book chapter, listen to a podcast, watch a documentary, read a report, etc. This is meant to help you vary the kind of sources you are exposed to. When you post you will include the following information:

  • What is the source you chose to use?
  • What genre did you decide to use and why?
  • What did you learn from this source? Include a brief summary that highlights the most important things you learned about your topic from that source. This should be a thorough explanation that shows that you read/watched/examined the source–and reveals why you are interested in this question. Also, answer:
    • What new element of the issue does thesource introduce?
    • What aspect(s) of the problem/issue do your sources seem to focus on most?
    • What new, surprising, or unexpected information came up?
    • What questions do you have now that you did not have before?
    • Have you encountered any contradictions or conflicting information?
    • Does this source discuss any possible solutions or possible answers to your research question?

Note: Within your summary, include at least one quote from the source with an in-text citation in MLA format. (Refer back to the MLA Citation PowerPoint from the Week 3 Quiz if you need help remembering how to do this.) When thinking about what to quote, select a sentence or two that seems significant to this source and connects to what you are saying in this summary.

STEP 2:

After you have posted, respond to two classmates. Comment on what was most interesting to you about their blog. Responses should be at least 100 words long.
