Because precambrian rocks are old and have gone through too many changes.

Precambrian rocks, our oldest, have undergone the most metamorphosis. Time and pressure have turned much of it into metamorphic rock under conditions that destroy . So we are very fortunate that we have a few pockets of precambrian fossils!
