Although adolescence is a challenging time for males and females issues can be more devastating for females. List at least 4 of the approximately 8 examples of characteristics that are more prevalent in the population of incarcerated juveniles than in the population of incarcerated juvenile males. Explain the research findings of each of the 4 characteristics that you mention in 1 or 2 sentences.
The text also explains in some details ?traumatic? events that also play a role in the vulnerability of juvenile girls who ultimately experience incarceration. It is notable however that many of these events are now common for girls from middle class backgrounds, who are not members of minority groups in the United States.
