Also, you can review the writing process in The St. Martin’s Handbook or a similar current grammar handbook. The basic steps in a writing process are planning and researching; organizing and drafting; considering style (formal, informal, academic, professional, informative, persuasive, and so on); and revising and proofreading. Owing to today’s computer word processing capabilities, the textbook adds designing as an additional step in the writing process.
